Overview

Advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies form the basis of future innovation in industry. Workforce skills in these areas are key to increasing efficiency, productivity and competitiveness of modern manufacturing. The Diploma of Engineering – Technical provides you with the practical skills in organising and analysing information, interacting with computing technology and selecting engineering materials.

Pre-requisites

Students must be at least 18 years old and must have completed Australian secondary education at Year 11 or equivalent. Non-school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies. English language requirements: IELTS 5.5 (with no individual band less than 5.0), or equivalent, or Site Institute pre-admission test at Level 4.

Pathways

This diploma prepares students for careers as a CAD Draftsperson, Mechanical Engineering Technician, or mid-entry level positions in the general engineering industry. Completion of this diploma can provide you with a pathway into a Bachelor’s degree at leading Australian universities. Take advantage of our articulation arrangement with Southern Cross University and gain a full year of credit into their Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours).
